Heard about Knitted Knockers at my breast cancer support group in Olympia on 2/4/2014. Very anxious to get mine as will be so nice to not have the heavy prosthesis.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in May of 2013. I was then found to have the BRCA2 gene mutation. I lost both my parents to cancer, so I chose to have a bilateral mastectomy. I did not want any reconstruction, the prosthetics are too uncomfortable. I have been using sports bras and adding some extra pads into them. They just don’t look right. I would love to try the knitted knockers! I would also like to say thank you wonderful women for doing this! It means so much to me, I really thought I would just have to keep struggling along with my way. Can’t wait to try my knitted ones! Many, many thanks to all!! 2/4/15 Arkansas
When I visited my doctor for 3 month check up I was telling him how heavy the silicone prosthetics and expensive and he told me to contact knitters knockers.
Hello! I would absolutely love a pink pair of knitted knockers. I was diagnosed with stage 3 triple negative breast cancer at the age of 23. After a mastectomy, chemo, and radiation I’m proud to say I’m now 27 and 3.5 years out from diagnosis. Dealing with my diagnosis and now “life after cancer” at such a young age has had it’s challenges. Putting a pink pair on would give me that extra boost of confidence needed on most days to feel, well, like I’m enough. The service you provide is one that is in a class all it’s own. Thank you for so selflessly committing your hearts, your talents, your time, and your stories to help fill the void so many women are trying tirelessly to themselves. I’m excited to try the knitted knockers, I’ve got the heavy, uncomfortable prosthetics but have chosen not to wear them because they are so uncomfortable. I still want that “girly” look but being so con-cave it is hard. I’m so excited, THANK YOU for giving me hope again.

These are so wonderful and after reading so many testimonials I would love a pair. I hate my silicone pair (too hot and heavy) and my foamies are losing their shape. Thank you so much for what you are doing to make us feel so special and embrace our new normal!

I heard about your organization in December while watching an Orlando, Fl news station. My husband’s nephew’s wife had just been diagnosed with breast cancer. I went to my local yarn shop, purchased the yarn and made her pair. I’ve been telling friends about your project and several have started making knockers. So far I’ve made 3 pairs, purchased more yarn today so I can make more. One of the ladies just couldn’t stop crying when I gave her a pair.

I know this may sound dramatic, but receiving my knockers has truly changed my life. My original reconstruction failed and I am now “deconstructed”. I have so much nerve damage that wearing a regular bra was out of the question , so I rarely left the house.
My shape has also changed dramatically and I needed a round knocker on one side and a regular one on the other…… someone knitted a custom pair for me in 2 different bright and beautiful jewel tones. I love them!!!!
I slip my knockers right into a sports bra…. they are light and soft and comfortable and I feel beautiful in them. My husband actually cried the first time I came out wearing them. Even my oncologist has noticed a difference. I’m happy and active and smile a lot more.
