Thank you Claire for your kind thought and effort – its wonderful (and called Cynthia)
Best wishes and much love x
Please thank ‘Kris’ in Colorado Springs for my lovely pink set of KK’s. I am still too sensitive post-op and mid-radiation to wear anything, but will try them in a month or two. Just the thought that someone with her exceptional skills would make something that fine for a stranger is amazing. This is the kind of ‘random act of TLC’ that has kept me afloat for the past 9 months. Blessings!
While I do not used knitted knockers myself, I learned about them when my daughter had her left breast removed. I have made them for different ladies as well as some physicians’ offices and had nothing but positive feedback. I have learned that the Polyfill from Hobby Lobby is lighter and does not pack as firmly as others but still holds its shape. I have made the usual light colors but also made a red, white and blue one for the 4th of July and on request a black one for a lady who was going to wear an outfit that required black undies. The Apple Yarn folks are a delight to work with on supplies I could not purchase locally.
Also she ordered some online and donated money and she was so proud of the email you sent her that thanked her it brought her to tears and she was sooo excited to show me you guys really do do amazing things bless every single person involved in this! 🙂
I am so excited when I found your website. I am a 2 time breast cancer survivor and had a double mastectomy 4 years ago. I went through 2 years and 6 additional surgeries for failed implants. I don’t wear the silicone prosthesis because they are so hot and uncomfortable. I will be turning 50 next month and it would be so exciting to have found a prosthetic that is LIGHT and COMFORTABLE!!!
I would be looking for something soft as I have a lot of nerve damage on my chest and definitely something fun, happy and creative for a pattern 🙂
Thank you so much for your dedication to this… it’s exciting to think I won’t be flat chested for the rest of my life. That I can be comfortable AND girly!
Looking forward to whatever comes my way.
I just received the most beautiful pair of soft pink knockers! I slip them into my sports bra….and my whole appearance has changed. My clothes fit, I feel amazing and there is absolutely no pain or pressure on my scars, which are so sensitive. I’m completely huggable, and I actually feel pretty again. It’s been a tough year….thank you for your life changing gift.
I love my Knitted Knocker, all I had was a Silicone & i hated it, it was heavy, hot & stuck to my Bra. Thank U so very much, this is wonderful!
Thanks to Kathy Riley & Seattle area Knitters Guild for your wonderful gifts of KK! I can leave one in some camisoles or nightgowns! Thank you.
I am 33 years old and I am undergoing a bilateral mastectomy in a week. I have been looking at the various prosthetic and they are so expensive. I am glad that there are volunteers out there willing to help make this transition in life a little easier. Thank you. Also, I don’t care about color bright, pastel, dark it doesn’t matter.
