Thank you so much. I love mine.
Just had to tell you that I received my Knitted Knockers today. I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductile Carcinoma in my 40’s. I didn’t have reconstruction at the time, but 8 months later I second-guessed myself and decided to give it a go. Went through that long, horrible, painful process and after all that had a reaction to the implants and they had to come out. Four big surgeries in a year. Horrible scars and back to “flat” after so much time and so much pain. I purchased a prosthesis but I have had nothing but heartache with it for the last 7 years. Hot, heavy and miserable just so my body could look “normal” and be in proportion. I even tried a much, much smaller one. Still the same miserable trade off. Menopause and plastic do NOT go together!! LOL!!! I had a checkup last week and my doctor told me about you, so I went home and sent a request. One week later my beautiful pink “knockers” arrived. They are a perfect fit, I CAN’T see my feet again (!!!) and I am beyond thrilled! It’s me again!! Thank you, thank you, thank you, you precious ladies who do this as a labor of love for those of us who need you. I can’t knit but I sure am glad you can. I’m strutting around like a peacock tonight with my beautiful pink knockers. They are light and not hot, and I know they were made with so much love.I know how grateful I (as well as so many others) am. What would we do without you???!!!! THANK YOU!!!!
My sister had a mastectomy last week. We found your site and today I had my first attempt at knitting knocker on dpns. I just finished it and my sister tried it. It works wonderfully and you cannot tell it is not real. We are going to look for opportunities to help others in our area. Thank you very much.
A friend knitted me a couple of “D”s. They fit wonderfully and are light — not like the terrible heavy (and expensive) silicone one my mother used to wear.
I’m going to show mine at our next support meeting. I prefer the one without the “nub” as the plain one has a hint of shaping anyway.
Thank you for coming up with these. I think maybe one day I will try knitting one in Fair Isle
Hello Dear Ladies!
I received my knockers afew days ago and I was so touched.. It fits just fine and I couldn’t get over the softness. I was emotional as I tried it in my mastectomy bra. You are all Blessed and I thank you for such a meaningful cause. I’d heard of you on the news and had no clue there was such a thing out There for me and the others.
Sincerely
Roslynn Memme
I had a lumpectomy in 2001. My prognosis wasn’t good. Even though they took a big chunk out of my right breast, no one talked to me about breast reconstruction. After chemo and radiation, my prognosis improved. Over the years, I got used to the right side being quite a bit smaller than the left side. My clothes didn’t fit right. I thought it was very obvious that my right side was much smaller than the left.
At Vogue Knitting live, I heard about Knitted Knockers. I requested one in D cup. I learned to take out some fiberfill since I wanted the coverage, but not the fullness. Well, from the first time I wore it, I feel like a new woman. No one has noticed yet, but I DO and that’s the important thing. THANK YOU! For 15 years, I’ve felt incomplete. At last, I have my body back.
Thank you All very much for my knitted knocker I just love this knitted beauty so much I have received a traditional form too heavy makes me sweat very uncomfortable,i wear this with no discomfort at all it is like too wonderful to be true. You folks who make these are truly a blessing for all of us to mastectomy ladies
Thank you and god bless you all
Dear Knocker Knitters,
Thank you, thank you! I am so grateful for my Knockers! Severe nerve pain and post-op sensitivity made wearing even the softest forms intolerable. I didn’t know how I was going to return to work or ever wear anything. The day my surgeon’s office gave me your website flyer, I went online and ordered my knockers. They arrived fast! When I opened the package, I cried tears of relief and joy. They are so soft, comfortable and natural looking. Thanks to you, I was able to return to work looking like myself, being comfortable and feeling great.
I got my mail today and was so pleased. I receive a card with knockers that said, “it was a pleasure to make these forms for you. I hope you will feel all the love I knit into them. I have enclosed extra bit of stuffing so that you can adjust them to your liking, I wish you continued good health and a joyful life. Kindest regards ,Anne B”
I feel so privileged to receive these. They are baby soft against my skin and Anne I do feel that someone out there loves me!” Thank you for making a difference in my life and for showing that there are people willing to make sacrifices of time to those suffering from a terrible disease. I love you to whoever you are!
I just received my first request for a knocker! Seeing the look on this beautiful lady’s face as I told her about Knitted Knockers, when she realized that it could work for her, was such a blessing. I can hardly wait to finish it. No more chasing runaway shoulder pads for her!
