New Contest―Get in on the action!
At STITCHES West, designers contributed one-of-a-kind knockers that were displayed in the Market. More than just showing off their work, the Designer Knocker Wall became a place of healing, laughter, and tears as thousands thought of their own experiences and those of loved ones.
We invite you to participate in a similar contest that can have the same kind of far-reaching impact: bring attention to Knitted Knockers as an alternative to traditional prosthetics AND raise money for KnittedKnockers.org.
The good folks from Prism Yarn, Trendsetter Yarns, Universal Yarn, Clover, and XRX, Inc. have already committed to the challenge. And we hope, after you hear more about what we’re doing, you’ll also join us (please keep reading).
Are you willing to help make a difference? If so, here is the challenge for our new Knitted Knockers Competition:
Create your own ‘branded’ knitted or crocheted knocker(s).- Choose any yarn you want! Work with any designer you feel will give you an edge!
- Make it fun! Make it unforgettable.
- Submit them for exhibition and judging at STITCHES Texas 2016.
The contest is a fun way to raise awareness by fostering a healthy competition among companies for bragging rights while raising funds for a good cause. We already have a commitment from the Bellingham Seahawkers Booster club. They were so excited about submitting an entry, they are reaching out to other NFL booster clubs to “compete”. We can see other competitions arising, maybe Pepsi versus Coke for instance.
Here are a few things you should know…
- There is a $250 entry fee (entry proceeds to go to Knitted Knockers Support Foundation).
- No participation with STITCHES Texas (or any STITCHES Expos) is required.
- Your submission(s) will be displayed (with your company logo) at the front of the Market at STITCHES Texas
- All entries will be featured in a future issue of Knitter’s Magazine and on social media.
There will be three categories for judging…
- Most Creative
- Best Branding
- Peoples’ Choice
What will you get by participating and/or winning?
BRAGGING RIGHTS! And you will have helped Knitted Knockers Support Foundation!
A little rivalry is fun! So please challenge your colleagues from different companies to join you in this cool new competition.

Your entry form and payment must be received by July 31, 2016.
Knocker entries must be submitted by August 21, 2016 for exhibition & judging at STITCHES Texas 2016.
